
1. Visa Application Form Complete the visa application form, either typed or written in block letters.
2. Photos – Provide 1 recent high-resolution photo (taken within the last 6 months) with a white background.
3. Original Passport and Copy Submit the original passport along with a colored copy. The passport must have the UAE residence visa and be valid for at least 30 days after your return from Japan. If the UAE residence visa is in an old passport, both passports must be submitted. Ensure the passport has at least 2 blank visa pages.
4. UAE Residence Visa and Emirates ID Submit a copy of your valid UAE residence visa (valid for 30 days after returning from Japan) and a copy of your Emirates ID. The original Emirates ID must also be presented at the visa center.
5. Air Ticket Provide proof of air tickets, either provisional or confirmed e-tickets, or a flight information slip or voucher from a travel agency.
6. Hotel Booking Include a hotel booking with full details such as the address, contact details, and the applicant’s name.
7. Schedule of Stay/Itinerary Provide a detailed itinerary of your daily activities in Japan, including accommodation and contact information. This can be found on the website.
8. Original No Objection Certificate (NOC) The NOC must be signed by a person in charge, with a company seal and their name and position. It must include the purpose of travel, your position, and monthly/annual income. The letter should be addressed to the Consul-General of Japan in Dubai.
9. For company owners, partners, or golden visa holders, the letter must be from the company.
If the sponsor is from a free zone, an additional NOC from the free zone authority is required.
10. Dependents or those sponsored by their UAE employer must also provide an NOC from the sponsor, along with their passport and residence visa copies.
For minors, NOCs from both parents are required, along with proof of kinship (e.g., marriage or birth certificate).
11. Proof of Financial Means – Bank Statements Provide up-to-date e-statements for the last 3 months, showing the account holder’s name and account details. The statement should not be older than 10 days from the application date.

The processing of a visa application typically takes a minimum of 8-10 business days from the submission date, excluding weekends and official holidays observed by the Embassy of Japan in the UAE.
However, if the required documents are not submitted correctly or if there are other factors or valid reasons, the processing time could be extended to a period of 3 to 4 weeks.
The photo must be taken within the last 6 months before the application. It should measure 45 mm x 35 mm, be in color, and have a plain background. The applicant should be looking directly at the camera, with a clear view of the face. Do not print the photo on textured paper. Please be aware that the Embassy may ask for a new photo if it doesn’t meet these requirements.
